Composite Footplates for Stability and Support
Developed with nearly three decades of expertise in the field of composite AFOs, Allard's Composite Footplates support and alleviate pain for patients suffering from a range of conditions, such as stress factures, injuries or arthritis in the forefoot and/or midfoot area.
Carbon Footplate &
Carbon Footplate Rigid
Carbon Footplate and Carbon Footplate Rigid supports the MTP (metatarsophalangeal) joints and the forefoot by restricting the range of motion, evenly distributing pressure in the forefoot, and aiding in the smooth transition of weight during ambulation.
The carbon footplates can also be used to gradually restore mobility following a period of immobilization, typically with a post-operative shoe or walker. They have the potential to enhance balance for individuals who have undergone toe amputation.
- Restricts the range of motion to alleviate discomfort.
- Perfectly align with the shape of the shoe for an enhanced and comfortable fit.
- Designed to accommodate shoes with a 5-10mm
heel pitch. -
For optimal comfort and function, the carbon footplates should be covered with an insert.
Kiddie Composite Footplate &
Kiddie Composite Footplate Flat
Kiddie Composite Footplate and Kiddie Composite Footplate Flat are composite footplates designed specifically for younger users. The composite footplates limit the range of motion in the MTP-joints while distributing the pressure in the forefoot to support a smooth and natural roll-over during gait, while providing stability and comfort.
Available in regular and flat versions. May be used inside the shoe or integrated within the sole for increased stability.
Composite Footplates Range
Carbon Footplate
Designed to protect the MTP joints and the forefoot by limiting the ROM, distributing the pressure in the forefoot, and facilitating rollover. The footplate can also be used to gradually increase movement after immobilizing treatment with a post-op shoe or walker.
Carbon Footplate Rigid
For patients with toe amputation, the insole contributes to better balance and a more efficient push-off at the end of the stance phase. It provides extra support and stability where the range of motion in the toe joints needs further restriction.
Kiddie Composite Footplate
A footplate designed for younger users to offer stable support in the forefoot and MTP joints. The footplate supports a smooth and natural walk, while providing stability and comfort. Adapted for modern footwear, it integrates well into commonly used shoes.
Kiddie Composite Footplate Flat
A rigid footplate which can either be placed inside the shoe under an insole or integrated within the sole of the shoe for increased stability. By limiting the range of motion in the toe joints, it helps improve gait mechanics and may be beneficial for patients with idiopathic toe walking (ITW).
