It offers an ideal solution for static and dynamic splinting of the upper limbs as well as lower limbs and bracing applications. VARIABLE RIGIDITY AND SELF BONDING Since X-Lite bonds easily to itself, the therapist can easily vary the rigidity by bonding two or more layers of the material together before cutting the pattern for the splint. Or, the therapist can increase rigidity just in specific sections by adding an additional strip of the material precisely where greater rigidity is desired, or to add dynamic accessories to the orthosis. RE-MOLDABILITY AND REVERSIBILITY Didn't get the splint in quite the position you planned? Just drop it in the heated water and it will return to the original flat structure. Want to re-mold just a specific section or perhaps press out a specific area for pressure relief? Simply apply a dry or wet heat source to the relevant area and re-mold the area. APPEARANCE AND FINISHING The X-Lite edging material enables the therapist to achieve an unequalled finishing touch to the orthoses.
